Day 1: Arrival to Zagreb
Welcome to Zagreb! Upon arrival at Zagreb Airport, transfer to hotel. Overnight.
Day 2: ZAGREB
After breakfast, private walking city tour of Zagreb.
The tour starts by introducing you to history of Zagreb. Then, the walk goes to Kaptol and its landmark – Zagreb Cathedral, which story goes all the way from 11th century. We will pass the Dolac market, to come to Radićeva Street that leads us all the way to Stone Gates. This is the entrance to old city of Gradec, today „the upper town “, where you will hear all about city legends, witches and lovers that represent this part of the town. We will walk to St. Marko church, the landmark of the old city, and finish our tour by passing the very famous Museum of Broken Relationships and Tower of Lotrščak all the way back to Ban Jelačić square.
After the sightseeing, you will have a free time to enjoy the city on your own. Overnight.
Day 3: National Park PLITVICE LAKES – SPLIT
After breakfast transfer to Plitvice Lakes National Park. At the park entrance, there will be a local guide waiting for you for park sightseeing: The unity and the harmony of the 16 lakes and their natural and cultural values is famous worldwide, earning this remarkable national park a coveted place on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites. Arriving at Plitvice, you’ll walk through these ancient woodlands led by our experienced guide. The path takes you across the Upper Lakes and then it’s time for a magical boat ride within the sound of the waterfalls to the Lower Lakes. Wherever you are in Plitvice it’s easy to see why its travertine marble formations are such an extraordinary natural phenomenon. The barriers, sills and other forms created in these lakes, karst rivers and streams is still an ongoing process that shapes the wonderful landscapes that make your walk through the park so enjoyable. It’s these same travertine formations that have and are still creating the numerous magnificent waterfalls here. Over time, the water changes its course, leaving some barriers dry and as it deposits new layers elsewhere. This constant evolution makes the Plitvice Lakes never look the same. The best way to actually see this happening is when you are standing in front of the Great fall, 78 m high. The roaring thunder of the water as it hits the ground is unforgettable! Your journey ends with a panoramic train ride (please consider 3-4 hours walk through the National park!) After some free time for lunch, transfer to Split. Hotel Check inn and overnight.
Day 4: – SPLIT – optional 5 ISLANDS HOPPING TOUR
After breakfast, free day in the city. We recommend a full day excursion to 5 islands in Split aquatory by speedboat.
The tour is really popular, because in 10-12 hours’ excursion you will see the most beautiful islands:
Blue cave, Biševo island
The first destination is the Blue Cave and a boat ride to there from Split lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes. When you reach island Biševo, firstly you will have some free time for coffee and breakfast (we recommend to bring your breakfast from Split because Biševo is a small port). After some free time, which depends on the period of the tourist season, you will change boats and you will go in the cave with small boats because the entrance is only 1.5 meters high. The entrance fee for the ticket is included in the tour price.
Komiža, Vis island
After visiting Biševo we are going to explore the town across it, Komiža on the island Vis. It was (and still is, but a bit more modern) an authentic fishermans’ village. You will have the freedom to roam around the old town area and taste some typical Dalmatian snacks on the way. This small town is really unique because it was under Italian control for many years in the close past, and as a result people here talk with a dialect that is a mixture of Italian and Croatian.
Stiniva bay, Vis island
From Komiža we will go to southern side of Vis island, and we will visit Stiniva beach. Find out why Stiniva bay is pronounced as one of the best beaches in Europe. You need to know that it is forbidden to go inside with the boat because the bay is under environmental protection. Since it is pronounced for the best European beach it is very crowded so at high season it is not a great swimming spot. You will have time for taking photos, our tour guide will tell you interesting facts about this bay and we will continue to swim in much quieter place just 5 min from Stiniva.
Blue lagoon, island Budikovac
Just around the corner of Vis, island Budikovac is situated. The Budikovac beach is better known as the Blue Lagoon, thanks to the crystal-clear sea. The sea bottom is covered partly with sea grass and partly with sand and shells, which makes it perfect for sunlight to reflect the many shades of blue. Also, it is not very deep, which makes it perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
Hvar town, island of Hvar
Our last jewel in this trip is island of Hvar, on which we are visiting town of Hvar. The sunniest town in entire Croatia, with about 2700 sun hours a year, is also the biggest town on the island and a popular destination for various types of tourists. It connects the best of the past and present. There you can spend time walking around the old town area, having some ice cream, just to soak the rich historical heritage that finds its roots in ancient Greece and Rome.
