Day 1: Arrival in Ljubljana

Your journey begins in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s charming capital. After arriving at Ljubljana airport use the official airport shuttle bus to transfer to Ljubljana. After arrival, check into Hotel Cubo, a Travelife-certified hotel that prides itself on sustainability.

This eco-friendly accommodation is located in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. After settling in, welcome dinner at Gostilna Na Gradu, a traditional Slovenian restaurant near Ljubljana Castle, follows. There you can savor dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, such as blejska kremšnita (a creamy cake) and idrijski žlikrofi (dumplings).

In the afternoon, take a guided bike tour around Ljubljana’s old town. Bicycles are available for rent at the hotel (or you can use the City of Ljubljana official bike rental system Bicikelj), and the tour includes stops at iconic landmarks like Ljubljana Castle, Tivoli Park, and the Ljubljanica River.

For dinner, Druga Violina, a socially responsible restaurant, serves traditional Slovenian dishes such as štruklji (dumplings) and fresh trout, with an emphasis on sustainability and local produce.

Afterward, travelers hop on the city’s electronic tram system, a highly sustainable and efficient way to navigate Zagreb. The tram allows them to visit key sites such as Zrinjevac Park, the Cathedral of Zagreb, and King Tomislav Square.

In the evening, dinner at Stari Fijaker 1900 offers a chance to savor traditional Croatian dishes like sarma (stuffed cabbage rolls) and peka (meat and vegetables slow-cooked under a bell-shaped lid), prepared with locally sourced ingredients.

Dinner at Zrno Bio Bistro, a vegan-friendly restaurant that focuses on locally grown vegetables (on their own farm) and organic produce, rounds out the day with healthy, sustainable cuisine.
